Yasei No Sekai [Wild World] 野生の世界

Yasei no Sekai is a HND project I created with my old classmate Paula Jiménez de Molina (Concept Artist), as Final Presentation for Graduation.

We wanted to create a new world, full of magic, fantastic creatures and characters.

This is a 3D Artbook of what would be a game.

Lykan - the Lone Ferois

Characters

Very similar to a were-wolf, which is the meaning of Ferois in Yasei.

There aren't many of his race, and they are usually solitary, they don't hang out in packs as werewolves would, they hide in the mountain caves and rarely cross paths.

Lykan is brave, even if shy, tough and strict. He has a strong parental bond with Itsume, and is very protective and helpful to her and his mates.

He likes the thrill of hunting deer, and the taste of their meat helps with making it his favorite.

The wolf's height is around 2.30m tall, mostly uncovered except for the pieces of animal skin, fur, bones and different claws and teeth accessories as tokens from his past fights.

He would be around 36 years old, in human years.

Lykan was the first character we worked on and thus it had to get fixed all the time, but definitely the one I learned the most with.

Itsume - the Lost Auran

She is an Auran, a Fox-like human hybrid.

Auran always move in groups, they are very united and very rarely you see one roaming alone. They are rather mysterious and tend to migrate every few years, leaving no traces behind.

Itsume is one of those rare solitary ones. Wanting to explore as much as she could, her curiosity got the best of her and thus ended up separated from her group, which only lead to trouble, until she was found by Lykan who took her in and turns into a parental figure to her.

Whilst she is a little mischievous evil, she's clever, fast-learner, quick-reflexed, and kind hearted. Next to Lykan she learns how to be brave and face her fears.

Her current outfit is a present from Lykan, made out of animal skin he collected from the preys he hunted on the day he met her.

She asked the wolf to aid her with the search of her race as they grow closer.

Her height is around 1.2m and her aproximate age is 13 in human years.

Viidakon - the Wise Ybis

Viidakon, "hunter of the night", is one of the most ancient bird races in Yasei, the Ybis.

This race resembles an owl, and fits their wise nature. Their time in the world extends further than most of the races, their long lives grant them possibility to study and experience what others wouldn't be able to, thus they are the most knowledgeable race on Yasei.

He is serious, strict, composed, generally a loner, but one of the strongest and most reliable warriors in the Ybis tribe.

As he warms up to the group, he allows them to use the nickname Kon but he refused to accept it on the first stages of their reunion. Itsume teased him about it till he accepted it.

He doesn't have a particular reason to join them in their task, to find the foxes, but he listens to his nature that calls him to follow the little girl.

His height is close to 2.6m and his age is unknown, like most of Ybis, one keeps losing count at some point.

Raion - the Magna Leader

Leader of the powerful tribe of the Magna, home of probably the strongest pack in Yasei, also the sturdiest of them.

When a Magna is born, they train since children in the hardest challenges one would ever imagine. Some of them, that are weaker, even lose their lives, but its tradition that they go through this intense training.

Raion wasn't always the top of the class, but eventually became a favorite. When he came of age, he fought other young Magnas for the leadership and became the chief, no one really had a complaint.

This race resembles lions, they are proud, tough, fierce, and can be very intimidating. But to his friends, Raion is a cuddly fur ball; he is honest, humble and kind, also can be very affectionate towards children, Itsume complains often about him overdoing it.

He is HUGE, he was taller than 2.30m as a teen, getting to 3m tall once he reached adulthood. Even for a Magna, hes broad shouldered and taller than average.

Irina - the Mermaid Sorcerer

Irina, one of the very few Nihil Pisces seen around often, since most just stick to the depths, as they are water creatures, and don't socialize with "ground wanderers" often.

Generally they are mysterious creatures, but a few of them, like Irina, come out to the air to do exchanges, gather information or purely for their amusement; although they don't share their side of the information without a price.

This mermaid-like female is good with deals, also has a tremendous live web of contacts which she uses as information gatherers, either for a reward or cause she charmed them with her powers.

She owns a trident that allows her to conjure different spells, it wont work on the hands of other creature that hasn't been given special permission from her, explicitly, since this old antique trident chose her as owner, and won't listen to another untill the end of her days, thats not likely to be anytime soon, for Nihil Pisces are known to be even older than Ybis, but didn't adventure out to the surface for thousands of years.

Her human-ish side would measure 85 cm, whist her long tail would reach 2.30m, which would result on 3.15m long.

Creatures

Sabertooth Panda

Just as adorable as it seems, as dangerous it is. This bear is a hybrid bear between a panda and a sabertooth grizzly bear, which at the same time was a result between the romantic rendezvous between a sabertooth tiger and a common grizzly bear.

The genes from this strange hybrid creature were surprisingly spread and thus its own race became if not common, at least not exclusive.

Gigantic Aranae

It's a giant insect which combines the elegance of the spider with the deadly poison of a Basilisk.

It's enciting colors are a visual alert for both prey and possible predator. Even if its rare, some hunt this great creatures for the rough skin and to extract poison from them, nor many have survived while trying.

Females are much bigger than males, and just like other smaller insects, after mating the female murders the male, leaving the body to feed herself later.

Just as bigger as they are, they are also as more poisonous. Whilst a strong creature may survive a male's attack, if treated carefully, there's not yet a survivor from a female's sting.

Red-scaled Dragon

Fire Dragon, just like the color of his scales tell. It's extremely rare to see a dragon, some don't ever see one for life; but when it happens it's not usually a good omen.

In our story this dragon fiercely attacks the Human village, which was almost destroyed on its entirety.

Just as other dragons, this Red breed is very aggressive and wanders alone. It breathes fire and is very deft, both on ground and in the air.

It's scales protect him from danger, since they were granted with magical defenses by birth, which increases his sturdiness.

Enviroment

Yasei no Sekai - the Wild Diagram

Yasei is a fantasy world very different from our own, and this diagram shows the different enviroments the main characters live in.

It shows a small piece of each in one piece, which was very challenging to design.

Lykan and Itsume live in the cave in the mountain, in the middle of the highest forest.

The human watch tower represents the village, in which part of the action occurrs.

The savahna is Raion's home, they live in hut-looking houses.

The magical forest conceives Irina's hideout, a small lake with jeweled stones, that connects to the ocean via underground tunnels.

The tree of life is a huge tree which's branches make home to Viidakon and other bird breed creatures. The roots extend to such large distances that they come out of the ground in the most unexpected places, miles and miles away from the base of the tree.

The birds live in nest-looking houses, made out of light but strong materials, taken directly from the tree.
